In order to ensure the safest procedure possible for your pet, please review these instructions prior to your pet's surgical appointment.
- Please take up all food after 10:00pm the evening before the procedure.
- We prefer that water not be taken up until the morning of the procedure, to ensure proper hydration for the patient.
- We would like all surgery patients to arrive at our facility between 8:00am and 9:00am on the day of their procedure. If this is an issue, please let us know and we can work with you to accommodate your schedule.
- On the morning of surgery, please allow time to fill out paperwork. You will also have a consultation with the veterinarian to further discuss the procedure, aftercare, and any concerns or questions you may have. If the timing of this is an issue, we can schedule the consult the day before the procedure and have you fill out the necessary forms at that time.
The majority of our routine surgery patients will go home the same day of their procedure.
Please allow time for a discharge consultation in order to finalize home care instructions and discuss the procedure. If you are unable to stay for the discharge consult, this can be replaced by a phone call with your doctor, if necessary.
