Advanced Care

Our experienced veterinary team provides comprehensive medical care, ranging from routine to advanced procedures and treatments.

Despite our best efforts, some cases prove to be of such complexity that they may fall beyond our diagnostic or treatment capabilities. Animal Medical Center of Plano is happy to have access to an extensive network of some of the best and brightest board certified veterinary specialists in the DFW Metroplex and beyond. We have relationships with veterinary neurologists, oncologists, ophthalmologists, general and orthopedic surgeons, and more.

Alongside the care our veterinarians provide, we have access to certified veterinary acupuncturists, Traditional Chinese Medicine providers, and both massage, and physical therapists. These relationships we have with specialists and practitioners help ensure our patients will have access to the best available diagnostics and treatments available.

Below you will find a list of treatments that we currently offer in-house.

Our veterinary team has you covered!

Veterinary Internal Medicine

Internal medicine veterinarians are qualified to perform advanced diagnostic services and create treatment plans for illnesses related to the internal body systems of animals. Our team will help diagnose and treat conditions of the GI system, kidneys, liver, heart, nervous system, endocrine glands, bladder, and respiratory systems. We also treat cancers, blood disorders, immune deficiencies, and infectious diseases.

Pain Management

Our veterinarians are committed to pinpointing the source of your pet's discomfort and helping you understand how to identify signs of pain as animals instinctively hide pain from humans. Pain management is one of our primary considerations when treating a pet for any medical condition.

Cardiology

Veterinary cardiology is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease in pets. If your furry friend is exhibiting signs such as rapid breathing, coughing, reduced appetite, fatigue, weakness, or difficulty exercising, call our team to schedule a visit to our hospital to see if there is a cardiac-related issue going on.

OFA Certification

Hip and elbow dysplasia is a common condition that affects dogs and can cause debilitating and painful conditions for your pet. OFA Hip & Elbow evaluation/certification helps pet owners and breeders to evaluate the hip joint before breeding. We strongly recommend OFA Hip & Elbow certification before breeding a female, before the purchase of a puppy, and/or to evaluate your pet's hip condition.

Endocrinology

Endocrinology is focused on the key glands of your pet's endocrine system: the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenals, ovaries, and testes. Releasing hormones directly into the bloodstream, they orchestrate the regulation of essential bodily functions. Early detection of disorders within your pet's endocrine system is crucial to allow proper treatment to begin.

We offer behaviorial counseling for pets spanning a variety of unwanted behaviors, such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling, or aggression. Behavioral problems can be challenging and frustrating for both pets and pet owners, so it is our goal to work diligently with you towards a solution.

Blood Transfusions

Blood transfusions (including transfusion of blood products, like plasma) is a critically important service that can mean the difference between life and death for your pet. All blood is carefully screened and administered by our experienced veterinary professionals.
